Sensual sculpture that sparkles!
| I’ve spoken a lot about my love of illumination and my fascination with the magical mystery, energy and power of light. A brand that I believe encapsulates this idea and turns it into a sensual, sculptured spectacle for all to enjoy, is Schwung Home Lighting. I’ve used many of Schwung Home Lighting’s designs in my projects and we’ve collaborated with them in CB’s Style Destination curation; I just adore the way that designers Dominique and Rudi transform light into glamorous, illuminated art. | Married with two children, Dominique Sente is a bourgeois bohemian from Belgium and Rudi Njssen is a rocking bohemian from the Netherlands. While lighting is their passion, Dominique and Rudi also have a deep understanding of the necessity for light in a home, and its means to either complete or crush an interior concept. “Light gives the opportunity to extend your days and create memories,” the pair told me. “The right light fixture creates atmosphere and ambiance”, and I couldn’t agree more! | Using a signature material palette of solid brass, mouth blown glass and the sensual beauty of light, Schwung Home Lighting Lighting creates exquisite yet functional lighting designs. The pair told me they are constantly inspired by the things they seem around them, in particular museums, movies, flea markets, nature, and their children’s artwork. The sophisticated minimalism of their sculpture results in the creation of timeless pieces that do not just beautify a variety of interior styles, but would also outlast generations. Schwung Home Lighting’s style particularly complements all Casa Botelho designs due to their extravagant personalities and extensive use of glamorous materials. Dominique and Rudi mentioned that their favourite Casa Botelho design is the Diana Pouf - “So glamorous!” | Last summer, CB launched a ‘Boutique Hotel’ Bedroom Concept in conjunction with the Living Etc Magazine House Tours as well as 100% Design Show. I opened the doors to Casa Botelho’s HQ, and my home, and had an influx of interior designers and design enthusiasts come the check out our ever-so glamorous bedroom style. Everyone loved the incorporation of sumptuous tones and sensual textures, as well as bringing personality and passion back into the bedroom with Schwung Home Lighting’s illuminated sculptures. I specifically chose the Cluster Chandelier with Glass Globes, and the Milan Table Lamp due to their minimal, elegant architecture and seductive radiance. | By now everyone knows I have an obsessing for lighting and I can’t get enough of Schwung Home Lighting Lighting.
